Marginalia: a blog

In 12 seconds or less …

A new video comment player appeared a week or so back. It’s called 12 Seconds and you get to leave a comment in … you guessed … 12 seconds (or less). This is akin to the 140 characters on Twitter and the status comments in Facebook. I’m thinking it might be a nice entry-level toy-tool for those keen to practise or to learn video micro-blogging. 12 Seconds is in ‘private alpha.’ This means it works but you need an invitation (which comes back immediately) to join the site.

And of course, kin to the ‘Week in a sentence’, photo on a Friday type memes that are doing the rounds right now … what about a ‘never-ending story’ amongst friends?

Want to give it a go? OK, I’ll try first … add as you wish below!

      Kia ora Kate!

I've just thought of a great name for a future Web3.0 equivalent to this! It's called JITTER. And the posts are called JEETS.

The idea is that the recipient actually receives the JEET before the poster submits it. Really kewl, for it makes editing exiting 🙂 . You can edit your mistakes before you make them!

The master trick is to receive a reply before you've even thought of what to put in your JEET, never mind submitting it.

      Beats quantum computing.

what a pity you didn't put this out in 12″ or Twitter. I'm sure it
would have received lots of imaginative replies.

      T?n? koe Kate!

Good try 🙂 but no thanks.

If it's good enough for Stonehenge, it's good enough for me. I don't (and will not) pursue things just because it happens to be in the fast lane.

And it's not my age. I've always been like that. When overdrafts on cheque accounts were all the rage (and that's going back a few!) I wouldn't have a bar of it, gold or silver. Now look where we are!

Nope. The crystal set is wizzy enough for me – it's electronic you know 😉

      Ka kite
